The Journal of Applied Christian Leadership

What is The Journal of Applied Christian Leadership?

The Journal is a semi-annual, refereed periodical of the Christian Leadership Center of Andrews University designed to encourage an ongoing conversation between academicians and practitioners in the field of applied leadership theory.

What is the vision of The Journal of Applied Christian Leadership?

Our vision is a research-based, refereed publication providing a knowledge base for Christian leaders.

Because the Journal is an extension of the Christian Leadership Center, it assists in leadership development in three distinct dimensions:

1) Personal transformation into Christian leadership
2) Emergence of Christian leadership gifts, and
3) Ongoing sharpening of leadership skills

Because vital scholarly discussion is a necessary component in the transformation of a leader, the Journal maintains a research-based approach to a dynamic understanding of leadership. This dynamic transformation of a leader provides the basis for the transformation of the organization.

The following combination of factors contribute to the uniqueness of the journal:

1) It is a research-based journal of applied leadership theory, specifically servant leadership.
2) It approaches leadership from the context of Christian values and principles.
3) It is a refereed journal thereby providing an ongoing dynamic interaction between thought-leaders and practitioners throughout the world.

What is the mission of The Journal of Applied Christian Leadership?

To provide a peer-reviewed published dialogue of applied research in Christian servant leadership across denominational, cultural, and disciplinary environments.

Why is The Journal of Applied Christian Leadership needed?

1) To provide a conversation among academicians and practitioners on the continuous developments in applied leadership theory.

2) To provide a venue for leadership students to publish their research.
3) To provide a vehicle for the distribution of applied leadership research.
4) To provide the leadership community with a resource for the ongoing transformation of the community.

What are the goals of The Journal of Applied Christian Leadership?

1) To publish a semi-annual periodical.
2) To represent divergent research-based points of view regarding both the theory and practice of leadership.
3 ) To expand the knowledge base of scholars and practitioners of leadership.

Contributions are encouraged by those who practice and/or give serious thought and research to the particular dimensions of servant leadership. Contact the Christian Leadership Center, 4145 E Campus Circle Drive, Berrien Springs, MI 49104-1500. Phone: 269-471-8332.
