Heart transformation is the only thing that can save us from ourselves. To put ourselves in another person’s shoes and to treat them as we would like to be treated is more than a technique to be learned. It is the fruit of God’s Spirit at work in our lives.

Against the backdrop of a world that pivots on hate, division and fake religiosity, the church is called to model God's kingdom. As Jesus' followers we are to be counterculture, peculiar, and even strange, because we love when so many hate!

Henry James once said, “Three things in human life are important. The first is to be kind. The second is to be kind. And the third is to be kind.” Whether we like someone and agree with their lifestyle choices or not, we will treat them with compassion and grace when Jesus reigns in our hearts.

Someone else said, “We don’t have to agree on anything to be kind to one another.”
